The Shinrin-yoku in Appalachia Retreat weaves together ancient traditions and modern wellness practices, offering a full day of movement, meditation, ceremony, and connection to the living landscape.
The Prana Dome rests on quartz-rich land beside a flowing creek, its 700 sq. ft. acoustical dome opening eastward to greet the rising sun. This sacred space was designed for deep restoration and transformation — a place where body, mind, and spirit align with the rhythms of nature.

The Heart of the Practice

In Japanese tradition, Shinrin-Yoku was created as both a public health practice and a spiritual reminder: to restore harmony by remembering that we are not separate from nature but woven into its web. Presence, not performance: This retreat is not about goals or achievement. It is about slowing down, breathing deeply, and allowing the forest to hold you.

Healing through connection: Research confirms what ancient wisdom has long known — time in the forest lowers stress, steadies the heart, and strengthens the immune system.
Respect & reciprocity: We enter the woods in reverence, not to take, but to listen, to honor, and to be restored.
How the Retreat Flows
The retreat is both structured and spacious: moments of movement under the dome, immersive learning in workshops, deep rest through yoga nidra, and communion with the forest. By day’s end, you will have touched the elements, the earth, and your own inner stillness — leaving renewed, rooted, and aligned.
